Jenny Jokela

Jenny Jokela (b. 1990) is a Finnish animation director and artist based in the UK. She graduated from MA Animation at Royal College of Art, London, in 2017. Her graduation film, Barbeque (2017), won multiple awards, most notably Cristal for best graduation film at Annecy. Her other films (Live a Little, 2018, and Sweet Like Lemons, 2023) have also had great festival success. Her commercial animation clients include BBC, Tate gallery, Adult Swim, Channel 4, Disney, UEFA and Vogue.

Jokela’s collaborative piece Hibernation (2022), made with acclaimed classical music composer Sebastian Hilli, premiered at the Pompidou Centre, Paris, where the animation was performed with a live large ensemble. Jokela also directs children’s TV series: Hoppsorna (Yle, 2018–2022) and Arne Alligator (SF Studios, 2022–).
