The Dictator, based on the character created and played by Sacha Baron Cohen, was the film with the most admissions last weekend in Finland. Now on its second week, it was seen on 70 screens and attracted 17.419 moviegoers. The total number of Finnish admissions for the Dictator is now 81.939.
Out of the weekend´s two premieres Men in Black III proved to be more popular, attracting 13.600 spectators and coming on the second place in the Finnish admissions chart. This sequel to the previous Men in Black movies, which premiered in 1997 and 2002, brings the agent pair played by Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones back, this time to fight against aliens. Men in Black III, which is directed by Barry Sonnenfeld, is distributed in Finland by Disney on 87 screens. The film, which premiered already on Wednesday, has now a total of 19.893 admissions.
Dark Shadows had 4.702 admissions this weekend and was the third most popular film. This vampire comedy has now been seen by a total of 46.315 moviegoers in Finland. The Avengers was on the fourth place with 2.801 admissions, which made the total admissions figure for this film 101.161.
The weekend´s other premiere, namely Salmon Fishing in the Yemen by Lasse Hallström, was fifth with 2.053 admissions. In this romantic comedy-drama a genial sheikh sponsors a scheme to bring salmon fishing to the desert country of Yemen. The film, which stars Ewan McGregor and Emily Blunt, is distributed in Finland by FS Film.
American Pie: Reunion was sixth this weekend with 1.081 admissions. It has now been seen by a total of 112.300 Finnish moviegoers.
Dr. Seuss´ The Lorax continues in the TOP 10 on its ninth week. This weekend it was number seven with 925 admissions. The film has a total admissions figure of 56.672.
The Hunger Games stays also in the TOP 10 with 878 admissions and is number eight on the chart. It has now a total of 181.082 admissions.
The highest chart position for a domestic film this weekend is number nine. Iron Sky by Timo Vuorensola attracted 831 moviegoers. The film has now a total of 174.669 admissions.
Ricky Rapper and Cool Wendy, which is now on its 16th week, was number 10 this weekend with 591 admissions. It has been seen by a total of 290.338 spectators, making it the most popular film in Finland this year.
The Punk Syndrome, now on its fourth week, got 431 admissions and was 12th on the chart. The documentary about punk band Pentti Kurikan nimipäivät has now a total of 10.946 admissions.
