Winners of the Finnish Jussi Film Awards 2025

Jussi Film Awards for films that premiered in 2024 were given on Friday, March 21, 2024 in a televised gala in Helsinki.

Stormskerry Maja, an epic drama about the love and hardships of a woman on a remote island in the 1800s, won altogether six awards, including Film of the Year and Director of the Year for Tiina Lymi. Four films won two awards each: Apple Thieves, Missile, My Name Is Dingo and Once Upon a Time in a Forest.
Two changes were made in the acting categories: new awards included Ensemble of the Year and Breakthrough Role of the Year. For the first time this year, an award was given in the category Visual Effects of the Year.
The Lifetime Achievement Award, “Concrete Jussi,” was given to stunt coordinator Reijo “Reka” Kontio who has advanced the field of stunt work in Finland since the 1980s. Kontio developed education in the field, and he has worked in over 100 productions to date.
The Nordisk Film Award, worth 20,000 euros, is annually given to a film that lifts and enriches Finnish cinema. The jury awarded director Virpi Suutari and cinematographer Teemu Liakka for their documentary film Once Upon a Time in a Forest. The two went on to win Documentary of the Year and Cinematography of the Year Jussi Awards as well.
24 feature films and 13 documentary films were eligible for Jussi Awards. 16 theatrical releases and three short films received nominations. The Finnish national film awards, Jussi Awards, have been given since 1944. The winners are chosen by the members of Filmiaura.
