The Finnish Film Foundation receives 5 million euros of additional funds for production support
The Ministry of Education and Culture has granted The Finnish Film Foundation 5 million euros in order to help revive the audiovisual industry from the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The funds are to be directed to support new film and series production. They will be awarded throught our regular application process. There are two more application periods left this year, with deadlines on August 11 and October 20.
Lasse Saarinen, the CEO of The Finnish Film Foundation, said, “We are very happy that with this money we can for the first time allocate significant sums to series. I believe that the strong support from the Ministry to our industry will give hope for the future and new energy that will benefit domestic film and series production.”
5 million euros is approximately 25% of The Finnish Film Foundation’s production support funds on a normal year.
