Niko – Beyond the Northern Lights sold to over 100 countries
The animated feature, which premiered in Giffoni this summer, will be dubbed in at least 20 languages.

Niko – Beyond the Northern Lights has been sold to over 100 countries, and it will get a theatrical release in several territories. The domestic premiere is next week, and in November the film will be released in cinemas in Australia, Spain, Ireland, the UK, Austria, Lithuania, Montenegro, Poland, Sweden, Germany, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Denmark, Czechia, Turkey, New Zealand and several Latin American countries.
In December and January, the film will premiere in Belgium, Bulgaria, South Korea, the Netherlands, Greece, Mexico, Latvia, Romania, Hungary, Estonia and France, where the two previous Niko films gathered 1.5 million admissions in cinemas.
The Finnish Niko reindeer has become an international children’s classic with the success of the first two films. Niko & the Way to the Stars (2008) and Little Brother, Big Trouble: A Christmas Adventure (2012) have over 6 million admission internationally, and they are regularly shown on TV in France and Germany during Christmas season.
Niko – Beyond the Northern Lights is directed by Kari Juusonen and co-directed by Jørgen Lerdam. The scriptwriters are Juusonen, Hannu Tuomainen and Marteinn Thorisson, and the film is produced by Antti Haikala for Anima Vitae and Hannu Tuomainen for Cinemaker. Co-producers are Ulysses Films (Germany), Moetion Films (Ireland) and A.Film Production (Denmark). International sales are handled by Global Screen.
