Two changes were made in the acting categories: new awards include Ensemble of the Year and Breakthrough Role of the Year which is given to an actor who is seen in a film for the first time or who has achieved a new level in their career. For the first time this year, an award is given in the category Visual Effects of the Year.
The Finnish national film awards, Jussi Awards, have been given since 1944. The winners are chosen by the members of Filmiaura. This year’s gala will take place on Friday, March 21, 2025.
