Heavier Trip to premiere at Fantastic Fest Austin and Filmfest Hamburg
The highly anticipated heavy metal comedy launches at one of the biggest genre film festivals.

Written and directed by Jukka Vidgren and Juuso Laatio, Heavier Trip is a sequel to the comedy film Heavy Trip which came out in 2018. The new instalment sees the heavy metal band Impaled Rektum fleeing a Norwegian prison and heading to the biggest metal festival in the world, Germany’s Wacken.
Heavier Trip has been selected to one the major genre film festival of the world, Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas, as well as Filmfest Hamburg in Germany. Fantastic Fest kicks of September 19, 2024, and the Hamburg festival a week later.
The film produced by Making Movies will have a theatrical release in the US, Germany as well as Japan. The domestic premiere is on October 11, 2024.
Heavier Trip stars Johannes Holopainen, Max Ovaska, Chike Ohanwe and Samuli Jaskio as members of Impaled Rektum. Other cast members include Anatole Taubman of Quantum of Solace fame, drummer for The 69 Eyes Jussi69, and the metal phenomenon from Japan, the band Babymetal. The film is produced by Making Movies and sold internationally by Charades.
