Four Finnish shorts compete in Nijmegen’s Go Short
Go Short is the biggest short film festival in the Netherlands. Magnifica: Passive Intruder will have its international premiere at the 16th edition of Go Short. Pilvi Takala is the Maker in Focus.

Magnifica: Passive Intruder, directed by Ville Koskinen, premiered in the domestic competition of Tampere Film Festival in early March. Go Short is its first international festival. The film produced by Polygraf is about the coexistence of Finnish people in their summer houses and an uninvited visitor called Pectinatella Magnifica, a green and slimy blob.
Altogether there are four Finnish short film in the European Competition:
- Flower Show (dir. Elli Vuorinen)
- Magnifica: Passive Intruder (dir. Ville Koskinen)
- Nun or Never! (dir. Heta Jäälinoja)
- Pena’s Special Hauling (dir. Anssi Kasitonni)
Artist Pilvi Takala has been selected as this year’s Maker in Focus. The festival will screen sever works from Takala, spanning the years 2006–2020.
Other Finnish films in the program include Blue Note by Pavel Andonov (European Audience Favorites) and Ecstasy by Matti Harju (Kill Your Darlings).
