Flower Show by Elli Vuorinen selected to Sundance
The short animation film was selected from over 11,000 short film submissions.
Flower Show, written and directed by Elli Vuorinen, has been selected to the short film program of the Sundance Film Festival. In the poetic film, courteous formality, allusive sexuality and mysterious nature entwine at the annual flower show.
Sundance Film Festival, one of the main film events in North America, takes place January 23 – February 2, 2025, in Utah. The festival saw over 11,000 short film submissions and selected 57 short film to eight curated programs. There are 13 animation films in the short film program.
Flower Show, produced by Böhle Studios, had its world premiere at the International Film Festival Rotterdam in early 2024. It was selected to competitions at Annecy and Nordisk Panorama, and altogether it has screened at close to 70 festivals this year.
The previous short film from Finland in the Sundance program was Are You Hungry? by Teemu Niukkanen in 2020. During the 2020s, the festival has also screened the Finnish feature films Girl Picture and Hatching as well as the feature documentary film The Mission.
