Screening Booking

The duration of the booking is determined by the duration of the film or program. Additional time can be arranged beforehand with an hourly rate. This is a promotional pricing for bookings according to the booking terms. 

Cinema Rental

The booking will begin at an agreed time and the duration and content is agreed upon in advance.

Preliminary booking

  • The date is being set in the booking calendar.

  • The booking conditions are confirmed to the event organizer.
  • A tour of the facilities can be arranged.
  • Advance payment may be required to confirm the booking.

Confirmed booking

  • The event organizer commits to the booking terms and conditions.
  • Cancellation policy comes into effect.

Good to know about rentals

Making a booking

It is good to have 2–3 date suggestions. The nature of the event, starting time and duration are also important when you first approach us. The easiest and fastest way to make an enquiry is to fill out the rental form.

Delivery of the materials

The materials you want to screen/display must be delivered at least two (2) weekdays before the event using the link provided with the booking confirmation. For evening and weekend rentals and for events that require a lot of preparations, the materials should be delivered as soon as possible, at least a week before the event. A more precise schedule is agreed upon according to the booking terms.

Parking

We recommend using public transportation, biking or walking when you come to the cinema. The rentals do not include parking arrangements. Parking spaces subject to charge can be found in the vicinity of the cinema. Read our accessibility information.

Decorating the space

Within the time frame of your booking, you may decorate the space, excluding the use of fire. You are not allowed to fasten items on the brick walls or other structures. Upon agreement, the cinema staff will help you fix the decorations, and if you deliver the materials early enough to the cinema, they can be fixed already beforehand during the week of the event.

Catering

Yes, you may bring your own catering. The arrangements must be agreed upon in advance when making the booking. We can bring tables to the lobby beforehand. The cinema rental does not include catering or catering staff.

Alcoholic beverages

The event organizer is responsible for getting the necessary permit if alcoholic beverages are served against payment. You must inform the cinema about the permit when the booking is confirmed.

Ecological sustainability

We are committed to the principles of sustainable development in our own operations. The event organizer must commit to making ecological choices as they are planning the event and recycling during the event.

Safer space 

Safer space guidelines are in use in spaces operated by the Finnish Film Foundation. All harassment, inapproapriate behaviour and discrimination is forbidden. Read our safer space guidelines before organizing the event.

Capacity

Kino K13 can be rented for events up to 150 people. The lobby can accommodate approx. 50–80 people standing comfortably at a time.

Lost and found

For items that have been forgotten at events organized at Kino K13, it is best to inquire primarily with the event organizer. You can also inquire about items lost in all of the Finnish Film Foundation’s premises by emailing the Foundation’s reception with the heading “lost item.”

Renting the catering area

Cinema Café

In public screenings, the audience can purchase hot drinks and cold beverages half an hour before the screening.

In weekday bookings between 9:00–16:00, the Cinema Café is open upon agreement.

Payments can be made with a card or by MobilePay. A receipt of the purchase can be sent by email kinok13@ses.fi.

In evening or weekend bookings, the Cinema Café selection can be pre-ordered accoring to the price list. Ask for the price list when you make the booking enquiry.

Upon agreement and depending on the rental type, the Cinema Café is either:

  • OPEN with payment on the spot (weekday rentals and public screenings)
  • OPEN with pre-order (weekday rentals and public screenings, evening and weekend rentals)
  • CLOSED
  • TAKEN DOWN

Price list

Hourly rate weekdays 200 €, weekends and public holidays 300 €
Hourly rate for film industry on weekdays 100 €, weekends and public holidays 200 €
DCP test screening on weekdays 10:00 – 16:00, 75 € / hour (min. 2 hours)
Attendant 40 € / hour
Technician 40 € / hour

 

The prices include the use of the cinema auditorium and lobby, as well as the screening of predetermined and predelivered materials by the cinema personnel. 25,5 % VAT will be added to the costs.

On weekdays after 17:00 and on weekends and public holidays the minimum billing is 2.5 hours. Weekend pricing starts on Friday at 17:00.

General booking terms and conditions

Booking terms and conditions

The booking must be made and confirmed in writing well before the desired date of the event. On weekday rentals, this means approximately two weeks in advance; in evening and weekend rentals, approximately three weeks. Booking enquiries are processed within about a week from their arrival.

To ensure speedy processing, make sure your booking enquiry has detailed information on the event. The nature of the event, schedule, number of participants and other possible technical needs are agreed upon in advance. To book the cinema, fill out the cinema rental form.

The cinema rental includes the use of the cinema auditorium and lobby, as well as the scheduled screening of predetermined materials by the cinema personnel, provided they are sent in time.

The event organizer is responsible for the organizing of the event and the expenses related to it, including program, catering, doorkeeper and the necessary governmental permits.

The materials you want to screen/display must be delivered at least two (2) weekdays before the event using the link provided with the booking confirmation. For evening and weekend rentals at least seven (7) weekdays before the event.

The space can be used upon agreement and is billed according to the confirmed rental time. See price list. The scheduled time must include the entire time spent in the premises (cinema auditorium and lobby). If the event goes overtime the hourly cost of the technician is added in the bill and the additional time is charged from every starting 30 minutes.

The space is rented with its basic furniture. Altering the furniture and decorating the space as well as restoring the space to its original state are included in the rental time. The use of the kitchen and the counter are agreed upon separately according to a price list. 

Use of the equipment and utensils in the catering area are not included in the rental. Additional services are charged extra.

The event organizer must commit to making ecological choices as they are planning the event and recycling during the event.

Entrance and exit are through the Kino K13 main doors on Katajanokanlaituri 11 A. Please note that the other facilities in the Finnish Film Foundation’s building are not available during the rental.

Evening and weekend rentals must be confirmed by 10 weekdays before the event. Weekday rentals must be confirmed by five (5) weekdays before the event. Kino K13 reserves the right to remove all bookings that are not confirmed in due time and those bookings where the organizer has not delivered the materials in time. Technician is added to rentals that are booked less than five (5) days before the event.

Half of the agreed price is charged for evening and weekend rentals that are cancelled less than 10 days before the event, and in all rentals, the full price is charged for cancellations taking place less than two (2) days before the event.
