Heavy Trip and Putting Lipstick on a Pig win big at Warsaw Film Festival

Putting Lipstick on a Pig, directed by Johan Karrento, won the Best Documentary Feature Award at the Warsaw Film Festival. Set on Åland, it follows the story of an accountant who embezzled over 800,000 euros from their clients and gambled it all away on online games. The film had its international premiere in Warsaw.

Heavy Trip, the heavy metal comedy directed by Jukka Vidgren and Juuso Laatio, won the festival’s Audience Award in the feature film category. The film premiered last spring at South by Southwest in Austin, Texas, and has since traveled to numerous festivals. It has won an Audience Award also at the Miskolc International Film Festival in Hungary. The film is sold internationally by LevelK who have already closed deals for distribution in the US, Germany, Taiwan, China, Portugal, Spain, and the Benelux countries.
