Finnish film producers or filmmakers can apply for support to attend festivals or other international events where their work is exhibited. The event organiser is expected to cover the accommodation costs of the invited party. The support is paid against a submitted support report after it has been awarded.

Film import support provides aid for the importation of films intended for cinema release and regular film festivals’ international programme purchases. The goal of programming support is to promote importation, distribution, marketing, and the screening of high-quality, versatile films, representing a wide variety of film genres and cultures. Professional distributors and film festivals are eligible to apply.
The aim of the support is to expand the cinema network in Finland to towns of 50 000 or more inhabitants that do not have a cinema or other facilities suitable for the public presentation of different art forms. Support may be granted for expenses incurred in setting up a new cinema and equipment purchases (satellite links, faster broadband connections etc.) that enable the screening of other cultural content in addition to films. Collaborating with regional authorities is incouraged. Support may also be granted for the networking and collaboration projects of private and art house cinemas that promote the availability and visibility of diverse programming.

A project developing several films may include 3–5 separate film projects. The development plan timetable may not exceed 24 months. The films included in the development project must be live action feature films. One of the projects may be a serialised drama. In 2018, the maximum support for one slate of films is 150,000 euros.

A scriptwriting grant may be issued to a person or working group for the work specified in a scriptwriting plan. In addition to scriptwriting, the grant may be issued for background and review work on the subject. A scriptwriting grant may be issued for one film, up to the maximum support decided annually by the Foundation. The maximum in 2019 will be EUR 20,400. Grants are issued in monthly grants (EUR 1,700 per month), with no more than twelve (12) months available for one film.
