DOMESTIC FILMS ARE ALL THE RAGE IN FINLAND

Ricky Rapper and Cool Wendy and Once upon a Time in the North top two films, Fanatics premieres at number four

TOP 10 holds currently five domestic films, which make up 68,4% of the TOP 10 admissions.

The most popular film this weekend continued to be Ricky Rapper and Cool Wendy by Mari Rantasila. Now on its third weekend it attracted 30.295 moviegoers to the theatres and has now a total of 173.389 admissions in its 2,5 week run.

Now on its second weekOnce Upon a Time in the North, which is written and directed by J-P Siili and produced by Yellow Film&TV got 18.947 admissions on its opening weekend. The film is starred by Mikko Leppilampi, Lauri Tilkanen, and Pamela Tola and it has now been seen by 66.872 viewers.

Mission Impossible – Ghost Protocol was still number three on the admissions chart. It sold 11.021 tickets this weekend. The film has now been seen by a total of 128.826 moviegoers.

Domestic premiere Fanatics got 10.637 admissions and was number four on the chart. Directed by first time feature director Teppo Airaksinen the film tells about young football fans. The film is starred by Eero Ritala, Joonas Saartamo, Jussi Vatanen, Lotta Kaihua and Janne Ravi. Fanatics is produced by Bronson Club and distributed by Nordisk Film on 72 screens.

Puss in the Boots 3D was number five with 9.242 admissions it got this weekend. So far 129.835 moviegoers have seen this family animation in Finland.

Now on its fourth week Naked Harbour by Aku Louhimies was seen by 6.712 spectators and was number six. This seventh feature film directed by Aku Louhimes has now been seen by 67.520 moviegoers.

Highest foreign premiere this weekend was Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy at number seven with 4.410 admissions. Directed by Swedish Tomas Alfredson the film is based on the novel by the same name by John le Carre. It tells the story of cold war era agents, who are trying to figure out the identity of the mole. This spy movie stars Gary Oldman, Colin Firth and John Hurt.

The Iron Lady, for which Meryl Streep won the Best Actress Oscar at Sunday´s Academy Awards, was the number eight on the admissions chart in Finland. It was seen last weekend by 4.225 moviegoers, total admissions number now adds up to 60.902.

The Storage directed by Taru Mäkelä and produced by Kinosto stays on in TOP10: now on its ninth weekend the film was seen by 4.179 viewers and it has now been seen by a total of 178.405 moviegoers. The comedy, based on the novel by Arto Salminen, is distributed by Nordisk Film on 28 screens.

The third of this weekend´s premieres was War Horse by Steven Spielberg. It got to number ten with 3724 admissions. The film is distributed by Disney on 37 screens.

Love and Other Troubles by Samuli Valkama was 17th this weekend with 777 admissions. The film, which is produced by Bronson Club and distributed by Nordisk Film, has been seen by 28.419 Finnish moviegoers.
