The lives of several young adults cross during one day in Helsinki, as they navigate the structures of the contemporary Finnish society. Feelings of belonging and being rejected, and the desire to be accepted and valued in communities, Finnishness and relationships transport the film’s characters into each other’s realities.

Hannaleena Hauru's (b. 1983) humorously unconventional filmmaking makes her a distinctive voice in Finnish cinema. Her films include Fucking with Nobody (2020, Venice IFF) and Thick Lashes of Lauri Mäntyvaara (2017).

Katja Gauriloff

Award-winning director Katja Gauriloff (b. 1972) is known for Je'vida which premiered in Tribeca in 2023 and is the first film made in Skolt Sámi dialect. She has also directed the acclaimed documentaries Kaisa’s Enchanted Forest (2016) and Canned Dreams (2012).
